iPhone 20W Adapter: USB-C or Lightning Cable?

Buying an iPhone 20W adapter is easier when you separate three decisions: the adapter’s output, the cable connectors and the brand you want to buy. A USB-C socket on the adapter does not tell you which connector belongs at the phone end.
The Prelium 20W USB-C PD power adapter is Prelium-branded and sold without a cable. It is not an Apple-manufactured adapter. Its listing describes up to 20W output using USB Power Delivery for compatible devices.
Check the charging port on your iPhone
For a Lightning-equipped iPhone, choose a USB-C to Lightning cable. For a USB-C-equipped iPhone, choose a USB-C to USB-C cable. The adapter end is USB-C in both cases. Apple’s fast-charging guidance identifies USB-C cables for iPhone 15 and later and USB-C to Lightning for earlier supported models.
Look at the connectors on your existing cable before ordering. A cable with a rectangular USB-A connector will not plug directly into the USB-C port of this adapter.
Does 20W mean the fastest speed for every iPhone?
No. “Up to 20W” is the adapter’s advertised maximum, not a guarantee of the phone’s highest possible charging speed. Apple lists higher-power adapter requirements for some newer fast-charging results, including its approximately 20-minute, 50-percent claim for iPhone 17, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max using a 40W-or-higher adapter. Those Apple test results should not be transferred to a different adapter.
If you want everyday charging, compare compatibility and package contents. If your priority is a specific charging-time target, check the exact phone’s official requirements and the adapter used for that claim.
Adapter only or charger with cable?
An adapter-only purchase can make sense when you already own a suitable cable in good condition. If you need both items, compare the Prelium 20W charger-and-cable package and confirm which phone-end connector is included before checkout.
Compare the complete setup cost rather than the adapter price alone. A lower-priced adapter plus the wrong cable is not a useful saving. Delivery, support and replacement conditions also belong in the comparison.
Check branding and support terms
“For iPhone” describes the intended compatibility; it does not mean “made by Apple.” The Prelium adapter page makes that distinction explicit. Compare warranty terms separately, as adapters with the same rated wattage can have different construction, support and certification information.
If the phone does not charge as expected
Check the cable connections and the phone’s charging port, then try a known-compatible cable if available. Avoid charging with damaged accessories. Temperature, battery level and active phone use can change charging behaviour, so a single observation is not enough to measure an adapter’s performance.
