How to Set Up a K8 Wireless Microphone on iPhone or Android
To set up a K8 wireless collar microphone, connect its matching receiver to a compatible phone, switch on the charged microphone and test recording in an app that supports external audio. The K8 uses its receiver rather than manual Bluetooth pairing. Check your phone connection before buying: a port that fits does not guarantee audio-input support.
1. Confirm the receiver and connector
Prelium's K8 listing has one purchase option. Its photos show USB-C and Lightning connection accessories. Send Prelium your exact phone model to confirm what your order includes. USB-C-equipped iPhones and Android phones need a compatible USB-C connection; Lightning-equipped iPhones need a compatible Lightning connection.
2. Charge and connect the kit
Charge the microphone according to the supplied manual. Insert the receiver fully into your phone, removing a thick case if necessary. Switch on the microphone and allow it to connect to the receiver. Follow your kit's manual for indicator lights, which can vary between supplied units.
3. Check OTG on Android if required
Some Android phones need OTG enabled for accessories. On supported Vivo, OPPO, Realme or OnePlus devices, search Settings for “OTG” and enable the available connection or power option. Other phones enable accessories automatically. Menu names and support vary; do not assume every Android phone supports this receiver.
4. Clip the microphone and test your app
Clip it near your collar, away from fabric rubbing and wind. Open a camera or recording app that supports external microphone input. Record a short clip, play it back and confirm that your voice is being captured through the K8 before filming a complete Reel, tutorial or interview.
If your phone keeps using its built-in microphone
- Disconnect and reconnect the receiver.
- Check microphone charge, connection indicators and any OTG requirement.
- Close and restart the recording app after connecting the receiver.
- Try another supported recording app if your current app does not accept external input.
- Contact Prelium with your phone model, app name and the kit's connector details.
Get clearer speech
Record in a quieter place and keep a consistent distance between the mic and your mouth. The listing describes intelligent noise reduction, but it cannot remove every background sound. Its up-to-20-metre range is an advertised open-space figure; walls and interference reduce practical range.

Pass-through phone charging through this receiver has not been confirmed. Follow the supplied manual and ask Prelium before ordering if that feature is essential.
